Wedding picture project

Last year we bought a house and while browsing through posts on http://www.abeautifulmess.com/ I was inspired by a photo collage that was posted on this site.  Our family lives an hour away from us so I received the photos I needed by mail.

I wanted to use wedding photos from mine and my husband’s family and hang them in our living room.  We have gray walls so I wanted the pictures to be black and white.
Buying a fixer upper equals many projects so staying on budget is a must!
We used an existing mirror that came with the home and changed the paint from green to black.
Dollar Tree picture frames make this project budget friendly.
Copies of the pictures were made at CVS & they had a buy 3 get 1 free sale!

Final project to be posted…the hubbs hasn’t had the time or the want to hang my photos :)

Hope chest redo

I've had this hope chest since I was 15 years old. It was a Christmas gift to me from my grandmother.  I like the idea of having a hope chest in front of my bed as a piece of furniture.
However the style of the chest doesn't fit with the rest of my furniture or my current style.  I decided to redo it and see if it would compliment my bedroom.
$20 later it looks so much better than before!

Sofa table DIY

We bought our first home in July 2013!!!!  Furnishing a home is not easy when your on a budget but requires more strategy and a little elbow grease.  I searched online furniture sites for a sofa table and was less than impressed with the high prices!  I’m so not spending $500 on a table that sits behind my sofa!!
So to Craigslist I went in search of a sofa table I could transform to my liking.  I scored this all oak table for $25!!! It came from a lady who purchased it at Amish Country. One can of primer and two cans of white spray paint later and voila my table is done!
